Peter Tatchell on criminalisation

Peter Tatchell is the Green Party parliamentary candidate for Oxford East and a well known supporter of human rights, democracy, and justice.

In support of the campaign of the IUSW, Peter writes,

“There is no evidence that Harriet Harman’s proposed outlawing of soliciting and paying for sex will help rescue the victims of sex trafficking and enslavement. It will merely drive sexual abuse and exploitation further underground, making it even harder to regulate and police. This is a misguided piece of legislation that is likely to put many sex workers in a position of even greater vulnerability.”
